1 Acceptance of these terms
This website is operated by Dr. Gem Raghav Prashanth, practising at JG Heart and Hematology Centre, Chennai. By accessing or using it, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website.
2 Purpose of this website
This website exists to provide factual information about Dr. Gem Raghav Prashanth’s qualifications and clinical practice, about the cardiology services available at JG Heart and Hematology Centre, and about where and how a consultation may be arranged. It also publishes general educational material on cardiovascular health.
It is an information and enquiry website. It is not a diagnostic tool, a treatment service, or a telemedicine platform.
3 No doctor–patient relationship
Using this website, reading its content, or submitting an appointment enquiry does not create a doctor–patient relationship between you and Dr. Gem Raghav Prashanth. That relationship begins only when you are seen in consultation and accepted as a patient.
Nothing on this website should be relied upon as a diagnosis, a prognosis, a treatment recommendation, or advice about your own condition. Only a clinician who has taken your history, examined you and reviewed your investigations can advise you about your heart.
4 This website is not for emergencies
Do not use this website, email or WhatsApp to report an emergency. Messages sent through these channels are not monitored continuously and may not be seen for some time.
If you have severe or sudden chest pain, breathlessness at rest, fainting, or any symptom that may indicate a heart attack or stroke, go immediately to the nearest emergency department or call emergency services.
5 Educational content
The Heart Health Education section, the Heart Talks videos and any similar material are published for general education. They describe conditions and principles of management in broad terms, for a general readership.
General educational content cannot take account of your individual history, examination findings, investigation results, other conditions or current medicines. It must not be used to start, stop, change or delay any treatment. Always discuss your own care with your treating doctor.
Medicine changes. Content that was accurate when published may be superseded by later evidence or revised guidelines. We make no warranty that all material on this site is current at the moment you read it.
6 Appointment enquiries
Sending a message by email or WhatsApp is a request for an appointment. It is not a confirmed booking.
An appointment exists only once it has been confirmed to you by the practice. Consultations at visiting hospital locations are by prior appointment only, and the date, time and directions are given to you at the point of confirmation. Please do not travel to any location without a confirmed appointment.
We may be unable to accommodate a preferred date or location, and clinic timings may change. Where an appointment must be rescheduled, we will contact you using the details you provided.
7 No guarantee of outcome
Nothing on this website is a promise, warranty or guarantee about the outcome of any consultation, investigation, procedure or course of treatment. Outcomes in medicine depend on the individual patient and cannot be assured in advance.
8 Intellectual property
The text, design, layout, photographs and other material on this website are the property of Dr. Gem Raghav Prashanth unless otherwise stated, and are protected by applicable copyright law. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not reproduce, republish, adapt or use any part of this website for commercial purposes, or present its content as your own, without prior written permission. Photographs of Dr. Gem Raghav Prashanth may not be used for any purpose without written permission.
9 Acceptable use
You agree not to use this website to transmit unlawful, abusive or misleading material; to impersonate another person; to submit another person’s details without their authority; to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems; or to interfere with its normal operation.
10 External links
This website links to external services, including the Heart Talks with Dr Gem channel on YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp and Google Maps. Those services are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
11 Limitation of liability
The website is provided on an “as is” basis. While reasonable care is taken to keep the information accurate and the site available, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
